SURPRISE PARTY

We celebrated Espen's 30th birthday at our house. It was a surprise party,

but the guests where only 30 seconds away when he arrived. They had some

problems finding the place. But still, I think we pulled it off.

The day after Dom slept over and got bored when he woke up. So what else

does a graphic designer do when cleaning up the bottles? Yes, colorcode it!

PARKLIFE

We went to parklife a few weeks ago. I think this was the best one day festival i've ever been to. Good music, beer and dancing with docs for ten straight hours!

SMALL FINDS

Every time I'm in Ormond Road and St.Kilda I find street art here and there.

So today I went to Ormond Road and I finally had my camera with me.

I've absolutely fallen in love with these small galaxy tiles. You can find them

around in St.kilda and ormond

SPRING BREAK

So this week is spring break. I can't believe it's already the middle of semester

one. The time has passed by so fast and this week has been just one lazy week.

Saturday we went to another housewarming where there were bonfire, dance floor,

one hell of a creepy outside toilet and a DJ-stand.

THE BRIGHTON HOUSE

I've totally forgot to show you guys the house I live in with my flatmates.

The house is located a little bit from the city, but it's totally worth it when

we live right next to the beach. We can't wait for the summer to come and

according to people down winter is finally over!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ARIANNE?

So ever since I arrived here in Melbourne, we've been having some trouble

saying our names to Australians. Okay, some of us are lucky, but I never thought

that my name would ever be a problem. But to my surprise it is! THEY REALLY

DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE OR WRITE ARIANNE or ARIANN...

So to the joy of my being I am now ARI! When they call my name in studio one

and two I'm Ari. When they ask my name at Starbucks I'm Ari. I'm not that grumpy

cause I just finished watching Entourage and one of the cool characters are named Ari,

so I'm fine with it.

But the other day I took the bus home and what do I see and read in the seat in front of me?

Every white bus I've traveled with has ARIANNE on the back on every single seat!

Jeg har lenge lett etter minimalistiske smykker med

kors på, endelig fant jeg et på Sports Girl her om dagen.

oss en sykkel/longboard promenad lang kysten. (godt valg)

I går så var det hele 22-ish varmegrader og alle vet jo at sola

er for å nytes. Etter en liten tur kjørte vi forbi en iskrem

kiosk og da var det bare en selvfølge og kjøpe noe godt!

Vårt hovedmål var å reise til St.Kilda som er den nærmeste byen.

(max 10 min med sykkel) Der finner du blant annet Luna Park

som har verdens eldste berg og dalbane (samme folka som bygde

Coney Island i USA).

and I decided to go for a ride along the coast. We

decided to go to St.Kilda which is the nearest

inner city suburb. Takes us max 10 minutes with a bicycle.

In St.Kilda you'll see Luna Park, they have the oldest

roller coaster in the world. (they say)

Finally I got a sweet little ride down here. It will most

def. be used since it takes us almost 15 minutes to walk

to the supermarket. I got it today (Friday) after my

Photography class! And thank you Ethel & PC for the money

you gave me, it paid for half of the bike. Very much appreciated.

where I live

I thought I would show you guys some pictures of my room today!

Here's my bed and yes I have a carpet on a carpet. It was cheap and it gives the room more "dept"...

This masterpiece is my wonderful "chandelier" that doesn't work right now cause I think there's no light bulbs. But it looks pretty!

I thought I would live my Australian life with no backpack so I left mine back in Norway. But I was wrong, I need one. So I bought this beauty and couldn't be happier!

And to spoil myself even more I found this awesome t-shirt after school one day and I just had to have it!

Okey, so a lot has happened since I last blogged. We've finally moved in the house, but there are still no furniture! So far we got one small ass table and six heaters. We also started school this week, I thought it all would go a little bit slow, but BAM new project right in our faces! So right now I'm kinda stressed cause, first I don't have a student card yet, we don't have any printers, I don't know where to buy paper and I'm to lazy to start this project right now.

Our timetable is almost done and lucky me I got Wednesdays off! I tried to sleep in and catch up with all the activities we've done the last couple of days, but at around 10:30 am I got flowers delivered at the door. I got super surprised and of course it was from Chris!^^ Made my day!

Oh, we still need a lot for the house so I didn't have any vase to put the flowers in so I made one out of our coca cola bottles!

What what, a beach House i say!

Super big awesome update: today July 12Th we got our selves a house! A beach house actually! It's really really big and will fit all six of us! So hopefully we'll be able to get some stuff tomorrow at ikea and maybe move in by Thursday! This is such a relief, it's been really stressful with all the house/apartment hunting! I took one picture of the house on the outside, but I'm not able to get it uploaded for some reason, so here's the link to the ad of the house,

Almost dead

Translation

I'm still alive! But almost dead. Right now we are still at base backpacking here in st.Kilda. We have been house and apartment looking, but since we are six people it's been pretty hard! I know updating has been pretty bad, but it'll be better when I've settled in!

Timetravel

So after almost two days of flying we finally arrived here in Melbourne! We didn't have any place to stay so we decided to ask the tourist information desk at the airport. The lady found a very nice and inexpensive accommodation hotel in the middle of Chinatown! Somerset Gordon Heights.

When we arrived the hotel our rooms where not yet finished so we where stuck exploring the city for four hours. We found a good burger place called grill'd!

We spent the next couple of hours at Starbucks and buying pre-paid cellphones. I also found a very cute environmental friendly bag that will come in good hand when we find a place to live.

It's in the middle of winter time here so it's pretty cold. I regret not bringing some of my warmer jackets, but no worries guys they will reach Melbourne as soon as I have an address! Enrollments are starting tomorrow and hopefully we'll find an apartment or a house soon!
